The Exchange/Partnership between FUTA and Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU), Tallahassee, Florida, USA, has been renewed. Having being first signed in 2013 to operate for an initial period of five years, the FUTA-FAMU Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), components of which include Research Collaboration and Exchange Program, is adjudged highly fruitful and successful. At the expiration of the MoU in 2018, both FUTA and FAMU unanimously expressed willingness for the collaboration to continue. Thus the MoU was renewed in 2018.
The Federal University of Technology, Akure has a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, (FAMU) Tallahassee, Florida, USA. On the heel of this MoU comes the special educational program for undergraduates code named ‘4-1-1’
Through the 4-1-1 program, under the terms and conditions of the signed MoUs, selected Undergraduate 400 Level FUTA students would complete their final year undergraduate program in FAMU to obtain a FUTA degree while they will be eligible to proceed to their Master’s program in the same foreign institution.
The FUTA-FAMU MoU has since 2013 produced four (4) cohorts of students who are at various levels of undergraduate and postgraduate studies in FAMU, Tallahassee, Florida, USA

How to Qualify for FUTA-FAMU Undergraduate ‘4-1-1’ Exchange Program
Students must have completed and passed 100 to 400 Level courses at FUTA
Students must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 at the end of 400 Level.
Students must not have any outstanding course at the end of 400 Level
Program Duration and Calendar: The Fall and Spring Semesters at FAMU commences on the last Saturday of August every year and ends by April the following year.
How to Apply for FUTA-FAMU Undergraduate 4-1-1 Exchange Program
i. Interested students can apply by completing the Application Form for FUTA-FAMU Undergraduate Degree.
ii. The forms are available at the offices of the Heads of Departments and the University’s International Strategy Office
iii. The form should be completed appropriately in the students’ own legible handwriting and be submitted to Director, International Strategy Office, having been signed by the students’ respective Deans and Heads of Departments.
iv. Students must have International Passport.
v. The following documents must be attached to the application form for submission:
a) Photocopy of Bio-Data Page of International Passport;
b) 100 to 400 Level Academic Transcripts obtainable from Exams and Records Office.
c) Photocopy of O’ Level result
d) Two Letters of Reference from within the University;
e) Letter of Consent by Parents/Guardian
f) Original Bank Statement of Account showing a closing balance of minimum of $25,000USD or its equivalent in Naira in not less than six months to period of Admission processing.
g) Visa application will be facilitated by both FUTA and FAMU, while students bear the cost of Visa application and travel ticket.
